- Curriculum is everything that a child experiences, from the time they get up in the morning until the time they go to bed in the evening.
- Each child’s uniqueness must be respected and fostered.
- Children grow and develop at individual rates that are often unique and unrelated to their calendar age.
- Children need an individualized curriculum that begins with what they already know and moves slowly from the concrete to the abstract.
- Children learn best through direct involvement with their environment.
- Play enables children to make sense of their environment and is essential to learning.
OUR STAFF
Our Preschool and Extended Care staff work to build partnerships with students’ families to establish and maintain ongoing communication. We use a variety of strategies to work with students to both nurture and nourish all aspects of their development. All of our staff are trained and specialize in the area of Early Childhood Education, receive training, and on-going professional development. Our lead teachers hold First Aid & CPR/AED certifications and have completed fingerprint and background checks.

PRESCHOOL & EXTENDED CARE HOURS
The Mukwonago YMCA Preschool Program runs 9:00-11:30 AM. Students enrolled in Extended Care receive care between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The Full-Day Extended Care option is for anyone who will be using our program for more than four hours per day. The Half-Day Extended Care option is for anyone who will be using our program for less than four hours per day.
SIGN IN/OUT POLICY
All children must be signed in and out by an adult who is on their authorized to pick up list. We will not release children to anyone who is not authorized, so please make sure this form is updated regularly. All adults that do not regularly drop off or pick up will be asked to show identification.
ABSENCES
If your child will not be attending Preschool on a normally scheduled date, please report absences no later than 8:45 AM by calling 262-363-7931 or emailing [email protected]. Please state your first and last name, your child’s first and last, and the reason for their absence. No credits will be given for absence. Please do not bring an ill child to the program.
